A great spot from the BBC showing how they never miss anything exciting and now thanks to their internet player, you don’t have to either. It’s well done and it happens to have Monty Python’s Terry Jones in it, which is a nice bonus.
This is pretty cool. Here is a link to the explanation page. Although technically the winter solstice only lasts a moment, this photo shows the entire 24 hour period that occurs either during the shortest day or longest night of the year.

At the Pidgeon Point Lighthouse they switch back to the old kerosene lamps once a year to test everything out. They then leave it in non-rotation so photographers can capture pictures like this one. Very nice! Read more about it.

This looks cool. The pictures show everything but don’t explain how to set-up this thing. Is it temporary or is this some kind of permanent installation? Nice design and fun to see what lengths people are going to, in order to live in the trees.

Frank Lloyd Wright would love this video. It is a great creative work showing a classic bit of architecture using state of the art graphic animation. Wow! Is this art or nature or design or… it’s pretty much everything.
Here is a nice summary from PC World of some fascinating images hiding within Google Earth. Do you think there are people spending their free time scouring the virtual earth for naked people and other strange image moments like these? Somebody has to do it! Good for them.
