Earth seen from 4 billion miles away

As posted on futilitycloset.com, this is essentially a convergence of an observation made by the late Carl Sagan a few years ago and the Al Gore movie, “An Inconvenient Truth.” Gore references Sagan’s “small blue dot” observation in support of the idea that the earth is a unique and precious resource. Here is that picture, the furthest image ever taken of Earth and probably one of the furthest possible while still being able to view the planet at all.
