This is a great summary of the current presidential candidataes’ positions on Iraq. Republican Ron Paul and Democrats Gravel, Kucinich, and Obama are the only candidates who, in 2002, stood their ground and didn’t jump on the war bandwagon. Of course a lot of people in positions of power in 2002 “went with the flow” based largely on public sentiment at the time and the power and information control wielded by the Bush Administration. Still, this is a nice list from the New York Times. For a few candidates, there was some creative thinking back in 2002.
