Turning Air into Water

This is a great invention.  Winner of the James Dyson award, this device was envisioned by a Melbourne design student as an answer to Australian heat and draught situations.  It takes hot humid air and turs it into water for irrigation.  See how he does it in this linked article.

Very Funny Ads – BBC Flying Penguins

A great spot from the BBC showing how they never miss anything exciting and now thanks to their internet player, you don’t have to either.  It’s well done and it happens to have Monty Python’s Terry Jones in it, which is a nice bonus.

Beautiful Photo of the Winter Solstice

This is pretty cool. Here is a link to the explanation page.  Although technically the winter solstice only lasts a moment, this photo shows the entire 24 hour period that occurs either during the shortest day or longest night of the year.

An Amazing Lighthouse Story

At the Pidgeon Point Lighthouse they switch back to the old kerosene lamps once a year to test everything out. They then leave it in non-rotation so photographers can capture pictures like this one. Very nice! Read more about it.
